Saturday June 15
- We arrive at London Gatwick 1 hour late then arrange for special transport from the gate to customs and then the baggage area.
- The transport cart drivers are overwhelmed with requests and we wait an additional 30 minutes to finally get ready to leave
- After being delivered thru customs and then to the baggage area, we search for our one suitcase at the designated baggage carousel, then at baggage retrieval only to find it was at the carousel after all. Two very helpful baggage assistants find it and bring it to us.
- Next, we are off on the long trek to the car rental kiosk and get the happy news, we have been upgraded to a Land Rover Discovery Sport
- We finally leave the airport to drive the 2 1/2 hours to Batheaston and 169 High street and Katrina and Alex’s house
- The drive goes smoothly despite on and off rain showers and a 20 minuets congestion slow down on the M25
- Upon our arrival and welcome back greetings all around, I luckily find a parking spot near K and A’s house
- They had prepared a lovely feast of squash soup, hummus, feta and greens salad and quinoa salad with halumi cheese
- We finish off with machiatos and treats from Fine Cheese on Walcott St in Bath
- K and A are off for a pre scheduled concert in Bristol this evening, the Stereo lab reunion tour.
